Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Dear Brother Muhammad,
When Zakat Al Fitr becomes obligatory, one may discharge the Zakat to an eligible recipient themselves or through an authorized intermediary. Accordingly, giving Zakat Al Fitr through an organization falls under the second category. Hence, you may, in principle, discharge your Zakat Al Fitr through the aforementioned website. It is important to note that the Canadian Centre for Islamic Research and Ifta (CCIRI) is not aware of any establishment’s framework and processes regarding their distribution of Zakat. Therefore, we cannot comment on any specific organization. As the matter of Zakat Al Fitr is critical, due diligence should be carried out before discharging one’s obligation.
